Luka Modric Will Leave Real Madrid After The 2025 Club World Cup
JAKARTA - Real Madrid veteran Luka Modric will leave the club this summer after the 2025 Club World Cup.
The 39-year-old midfielder has starred in Real Madrid for 13 seasons, winning 28 trophies which is a club record.
The 2018 Ballon d'Or winner has played fewer roles for Real Madrid in recent seasons, but remains important.
He has appeared in 34 La Liga games this season, 16 of them as first players.
"Real Madrid and our captain Luka Modric have agreed to end an unforgettable period as players for our club at the end of the 2025 Club World Cup, which our team will play from 18 June 2025 in the United States," Real Madrid said in a statement on Thursday, 22 May 2025, local time.
