Christian Pulisic Won't Play For The United States In The Gold Cup
JAKARTA - AC Milan striker Christian Pulisic will not be part of the United States in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.
The reason Pulisic isn't available is because he needs a period of recovery after a tiring season in Europe.
If he played in the final match of Milan's season against Monza on Sunday, May 25, 2025, early morning WIB, it would be his 50th match in all competitions for the Rossoneri this season.
According to ESPN reports, Pulisic has been dealing with recent chronic hip flexor issues in March 2025 although it is not known if that's the reason she did not participate in the Gold Cup.

The problem is, the United States really needs Pulisic's presence because they want to bounce back from a bad performance in the Concacaf Nations League in March 2025, which lost to Panama and Canada.
Apart from Pulisic, the United States will not be strengthened by the duo Juventus, Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah, and Gio Reyna from Borussia Dortmund, all of whom will participate in the 2025 Club World Cup.
"I think maintaining player fitness is a difficult thing. It's very difficult. That's why we analyze all the circumstances. I will try to make the right decision (about the cast list)," said United States Manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The 2025 Club World Cup can also make Johnny Cardoso unavailable if his move to Atletico Madrid takes place.
Meanwhile, the United States opened the Gold Cup group stage on June 15, 2025 against Tokyo and Tobago followed by matches against Saudi Arabia on June 19, 2025, and Haiti three days later.
Before the Gold Cup, the United States will warm up with two friendly matches against the big European team, Turkey, on June 7, 2025, and Switzerland on June 10, 2025.
Speaking of preparation for the Gold Cup, Pochettino indicated that the players involved in the upcoming friendly match will also play in the Gold Cup.
"According to our consideration, the percentage will be high. The players who will be involved in two friendly matches and then in the Gold Cup."
"In my opinion, it's a logical decision. If you want to prepare (for) the Gold Cup, I think you need players who are fit in the competition and practice," said Pochettino.
Fox Sports is the first to report news about Pulisic being unavailable to the Concacaf Gold Cup.
