Great Success Brat, Charli XCX Intends To Make An Idealist Album

JAKARTA - Charli XCX won his heyday again with the Brat album which was rewarded with a series of prestigious music awards including the first three Grammy trophies in his career. But that success did not make him complacent.

He admitted that there was no burden in working on the next album. Instead of trying to make the same formula, Charli actually wanted to make something different.

"I don't feel the burden of having to make an album like Brat again, because while working on this (new album), even though I believe in the album and know the direction I want, I won't know how people will react," he said in an interview with Culted, citing NME 22 May.

The album he is working on is one of the idealistic projects. He made this work for himself as an artist, so he was ready if his album would flop.

"I'm relaxed, because we'll never be able to repeat the same thing twice. To be honest, it's very likely that my next album will flop, and I'm fine with that," he said.

Brat's album (2024) marks the phase of Charli XCX's career journey that is not always smooth. But with his vision of art, fighting power and exploration, it is something that has not changed from the British artist.
