Jaya Suprana Hands Over MURI Record Certificate, JMSI Chairman Wins Cultural Masterpiece Award

JAKARTA The Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) has again awarded awards to figures from various fields who have scored extraordinary achievements. One of the awards was handed over by Jaya Suprana to the General Chair of the Indonesian Cyber Media Network (JMSI), Teguh Santosa.

The award was handed over directly by the Founder of MURI, Jaya Suprana, at a ceremony that took place at the Jaya Suprana Institute Building, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Thursday, May 22, 2025.

This event also marked the 35th anniversary of MURI's journey in collecting more than 12 thousand works and achievements of the nation's children.

The MURI record recipients this time include various unique and inspiring fields. Namely Hartono Sumarsono as the author of the most batik books, Teguh Santosa as Indonesia's first author to raise the issue of Korean reunification, and Serlika Aprita as the female lecturer in the most books. Law.

Then the Gadai Indonesia Center for giving the most gold to customers, Kiki Adam as a dance fashion designer who raises art as an expression of soul, Intercity Evergreen for holding the most veteran basketball matches, and Erlien Ermawati as the most Starbucks member card collectors with 273 cards.

Prior to the submission of the MURI certificate, Jaya Suprana interviewed the record recipients and explored the story behind the persistence as well as the achievements they recorded.

Hartono Sumarsono, for example, started his story in 1983, when he was fascinated by the Chinese camp that he found on Jalan Surabaya. At that time, someone suggested that he also see the wealth of Indonesian batik. Apparently, artistic blood flows from his great grandmother who is a batik seller. Since then, Hartono has written batik books to become the author of most batik books.

"We as Indonesians use batik as a form of love for Indonesia," Hartono said.

Furthermore, Serlika Aprita, who is the female lecturer who writes the most legal books. Despite admitting to having written 65 books, Serlika only registered 35 of them, because 2025 coincided with her 35th birthday.

Then, Teguh Santosa as the first Indonesian to write about Korean reunification which was appointed from his dissertation majoring in the International Meeting of Padjadjaran University (Unpad). Teguh received an award for his contribution to cultural diplomacy and cross-border thinking.

Unlike other recipients, MURI's record received by the General Chair of the Indonesian Cyber Media Network (JMSI) was also recorded as a gift of the 40th Culture Masterpiece given by MURI to figures who played a major role in the cultural field. In addition, for Teguh, this is the 6th MURI record he recorded.

Meanwhile, Andrew Susanto as CEO and Founder of the Gadai Center Indonesia said the record he printed stemmed from a miscalculation that inspired his party to distribute a total of 8,000 grams of gold, worth more than Rp 12 billion to loyal customers.
