Tires Not In Accordance With Specifications After Recall, Transit Trail Owner Files Lawsuit To Ford

JAKARTA - Bad news came for Ford. This well-known automotive manufacturer from the United States is facing a lawsuit from the owners of the Transit Trail model.

Reported by Motor1, Thursday, May 22, the lawsuit related to the recall carried out by Ford in early 2024 was caused by the 30.5-inch Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse tires because they could swipe with the coating of wheels in certain situations.

Instead of being replaced with similar-sized tires, the manufacturer actually gave him a smaller-circular rubber of 28.5 inches.

This makes the ground clearance on the car lower than ever, which makes Transit Trail have specifications similar to the basic version.

According to the lawsuit, the fix also eliminates the main ability of the Transit Trail being plotted as a tough MPV for all terrain. Unfortunately, Ford did not want to comment on the lawsuit.

Previously, the manufacturer nicknamed the "oval blue" issued a recall for the Transit in March 2024 after starting investigating the matter at the end of January 2024.

Ford technicians found that the front tire shoulder could touch the wheel arch layer at 60 percent full spin during braking so that it could cause failure at tire pressure and threaten safety.

The withdrawal involved Transit Trail, a production model for March 15, 2022, until March 6, 2024, totaling around 1,900 units and it is estimated that only 500 units need improvement.

At that time, the manufacturer was aware of the existence of seven reports regarding the condition of this frictional tire. There were no reports of accidents or other victims caused by the problem.
