Mendikdasmen: Guru Sekolah Rakyat Bukan Dari Rekrutmen Baru

JAKARTA The Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti ensured that teachers and school principals who would be placed in the People's School (SR) did not come from new recruitment, but teachers who were already actively teaching.

"In the last meeting we received the report, the teachers will be ready to be assigned. They are not the teachers we are recruiting for, but are already teachers. However, they will be assigned to the People's School," said Abdul Mu'ti in a written statement, Thursday, May 22.

He added that until now there is no certainty regarding the number of teacher needs in the People's School because it is still in the planning and development stage.

The need for teachers depends on the number of People's Schools that will be opened this year. The process is still ongoing, so the exact number cannot be determined," he explained.

The government targets 65 People's Schools to start operating by 2025. The school is designed to accommodate around 6,800 students from underprivileged families.

The People's School Program is part of the government's efforts to increase access to inclusive and affordable basic education for the poor and vulnerable groups.
