Defendant Denies Budi Arie Involved In Beking Gambling Site: I Am Accountable For The World Of The Hereafter

JAKARTA - One of the defendants in the online gambling site (judol) case of an employee of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), Zulkarnaen Apriliantony, denied the involvement of former Minister of Communication and Information (Kominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi.

"I want to straighten this out, so that in the media don't be weird. Pak Budi Arie doesn't accept anything from gambling," said Apriliantony or Tony during a witness examination at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, May 21.

Tony said it was to respond to the statements of a number of witnesses presented at the trial.

He emphasized that he did not act as a figure who collected money from the deposits resulting from the 'guard' of the judol site.

"I'm not a money collector here, I'm a money recipient here," he said.

Therefore, Tony reiterated that Budi Arie did not know anything about the case and his party was ready to take responsibility for the afterlife.

"And he (Budi Arie) doesn't know at all. He doesn't know at all. So we run this, he doesn't know at all. I can be held accountable, the afterlife," he said.

Previously, the name of the Minister of Cooperatives appeared in the indictment of the alleged protection of judol sites by a number of unscrupulous Kemenkominfo employees (now Komdigi).

Budi Arie was questioned by the National Police at the Bareskrim Polri building on December 19, 2024.
