Food Independence Begins To Be Seen, Indonesia's Largest Rice And Corn Reserves In History

TANGSEL - President Prabowo Subianto looks excited when delivering national food reserves, especially rice and corn reaching the highest level in Indonesia's history. This was conveyed by President Prabowo during a speech at the 49th Annual Convention and Exhibition of the Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) 2025 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, on Wednesday, May 21.

The abundance of rice and corn reserves exceeds the target set by the government. It is noted that Indonesia achieved significant achievements in the food security sector with the government's rice reaching 3.8 million tons as of May 18, 2025. Based on the projection of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the production of rice in the first semester of 2025 reached 18.76 million tons, an increase of 11 percent compared to the previous year.

According to President Prabowo, this result emerged from a reasonable policy, namely to immediately resolve difficulties and be oriented towards the nation and people.
