Senior Apple Deirdre O'Brien Is Included In Fortune's Most Influential Women's 100th List

JAKARTA Apple's Retail SVP and HR, Deirdre O'Brien, is on the list of the most influential women in the business sector for the year. The list was created by Fortune, a global business magazine.

In this year's Most Powerful Women category, O'Brien is in 67th place. The award shows that O'Brien is a woman with a competitive spirit. What's more, O'Brien has been included in the category seven times in a row.

Thus, O'Brien has been in the category since 2018. This is an achievement because this category is filled by women who lead the company. In fact, Fortune says that this category is very competitive.

For Fortune, O'Brien's dedication to Apple deserves appreciation. The reason is, after being left by Angela Ahrendts, Apple's former Senior Vice President, O'Brien must ensure the sale of iPhones. He also has to manage Apple retail globally.

"He oversees various functions, ranging from training and development at Apple University to diversity and inclusion, compensation, allowances, and more," Fortune said of O'Brien's achievements.

O'Brien's dedication has also been seen from his performance over the past few years. He again added the position of HR manager at Apple to manage retail. This is quite an important role when O'Brien took office between 2017 and 2023.

Apple has also successfully launched new retail stores in the past year in several countries. The iPhone manufacturer even set up its first retail store in Malaysia recently.

"Over the past year, O'Brien has overseen the opening of stores in the US, China, Spain and Sweden, as well as the launch of Apple's first retail location in Malaysia; further opening in India, the US, Japan, and the UAE is scheduled for the end of 2025," Fortune explained.
