REI Proposes Commission V Of The DPR To Invite The Housing Task Force To Give An Explanation On The Road Map Program Of 3 Million Houses

JAKARTA - The Association of Real Estate Indonesia Property Companies (REI) submitted a proposal to Commission V of the DPR RI to invite the Housing Task Force to provide an explanation regarding the road map program of 3 million houses.

"This is important so that the understanding of the 3 million House Program is more comprehensive, clear and productive as expected by President Prabowo Subianto," said Chairman of the REI DPP, Joko Suranto in his statement in Tangerang, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 21.

Joko's statement was in response to the roadmap for the program of 3 million houses submitted by the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) to Commission V of the DPR RI which was considered unclear.

"To get a clear explanation, we from REI encourage Commission V of the DPR RI to invite Hashim Djojohadikusumo directly as the Head of the Housing Task Force Team which formulated the program of 3 million houses from the start. That way, this program is more productive and runs in a clear direction. Not like the right light, but turns left, "said Joko who is also the CEO of the Buana Kassiti Group.

According to Joko, almost eight months before President Prabowo's inauguration, REI had an intense dialogue with the Housing Task Force to prepare the housing ecosystem and formulate the establishment of the PKP Ministry.

During the dialogue, the Housing Task Force has socialized that the Prabowo Subianto Government through the Ministry of PKP which will be formed will focus on three main programs.

The three programs are the construction of social houses, low-income houses (MBR) and house renovations.

For social homes related to poverty alleviation programs with government instruments, they will provide houses to poor people by paying monthly installments of Rp600 thousand or Rp7.2 million per year.

In 2025 it will start with 2 million units, namely 1 million units on the coast and 1 million units in rural areas. "The government will prepare monthly installments with a budget of around Rp. 14.4 trillion," he said.

In addition, the government will build 1 million flat vertical housing units (simple flats) in urban areas. Later the government will provide the land for free by inviting local and foreign investors.

For MBR houses, the Housing Task Force formulates that the government will try to increase the number of MBR houses from 220 thousand units to 320 thousand units or more.

The government will look for alternative financing, in addition to using the APBN also through non-APBN funds, including by using banking funds through interest subsidies. The government will also try to find other sources of liquidity from within and outside the country

As for the area renovation and repair program, the Housing Task Force has submitted a plan that the government through the ministry formed will raise APBN funds and foreign loans to increase the number of renovations of underprivileged houses in rural areas and also in urban areas, as well as improvements to slum areas.

As the largest and oldest developer association in Indonesia, REI since the beginning of the launch of the 3 million house program has been determined to participate in the success of the housing provision program for MBR.

REI believes that President Prabowo Subianto's commitment and the roadmap that has been formulated by Hashim Djojohadikusumo and the Housing Task Force team can be realized so that it has a positive impact on the community.

"We are ready to realize the target of 3 million houses, so the government does not need to prepare a state budget because the developer will build it. At least, we can help President Prabowo Subianto to mention the exact realization of the 3 million house program when delivering a state speech at the MPR RI Annual Session on August 16, 2025," said Joko Suranto.
