Mazda EZ-60 Breaks Order Record, What's Special?

The latest environmentally friendly car from the collaboration between Changan Automobile and Mazda, namely Mazda EZ-60, immediately stole the attention of the Chinese market after its debut at the 2025 Auto Shanghai event. This warm welcome proves that the presence of this SUV is very well received by consumers in the Bamboo Curtain country.

Reporting from CNevpost, Wednesday, May 21, until mid-May, Mazda EZ-60 had pocketed more than 20,000 initial orders. This figure makes it the fastest new energy SUV in China that has managed to penetrate the figure since it opened the booking period.

The SUV was first introduced on the opening day of the Shanghai Auto, April 23, and immediately received an extraordinary response of 10,060 units ordered in just the first 48 hours, based on data released by Changan Mazda.

Mazda EZ-60 is Changan Mazda's first new energy SUV and is their second strategic model after the EZ-6 sedan. Medium size, EZ-60 is offered in two options: versions of pure electric vehicles (BEVs) and long-range electric vehicles (EREVs) strategies similar to other Changan models.

For the BEV variant, this car carries a single electric motor with a maximum power of 190 kW. Meanwhile, the EREV version is equipped with a 1.5 liter gasoline engine with a peak power of 70 kW, which functions as a generator. Both variants use batteries from well-known manufacturers CATL and CALB.

Carrying Mazda's signature driving philosophy, Jinba-Ittai, EZ-60 is designed to provide a fun and intuitive driving experience. Not only that, but various smart technologies are embedded to support the convenience and connectivity of users.

In terms of design, Mazda EZ-60 carries the concept of Future + Soul x Modern, combining an elegant and modern impression that depicts the spirit of a new lifestyle. Inside the cabin, there is a large screen measuring 26.45 inches 5K and a 3D virtual head-up display, which presents important information clearly directly in front of the driver's eyes, while strengthening futuristic nuances.

Other advanced features include a smart cabin system that can be operated through sound, touch, and movement, as well as automatic parking features. All these features are designed to make it easier for drivers to control their vehicles comfortably and efficiently.
