Called Cover Song Without Permission, Here's The Chronology Of Yoni Dores Reporting Lesti Kejora
JAKARTA - The police report against Lesti Kejora for alleged copyright infringement was confirmed by the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Ary today, Tuesday, May 20.
Ade Ary said that the attorney for the songwriter Yoni Dores visited Polda Metro Jaya to make the report on Sunday, May 18.
"Two days ago we received a criminal report related to intellectual property or in this case a copyright crime, as regulated in Article 113 in conjunction with Article 9 of Law No. 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright," said Ade Ary to the media crew at Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday, May 20.
Ade said that the report against the 25-year-old dancer was based on several events that occurred from 2018 to the present, where Rizky Billar's wife covered Yoni Dores' songs without permission.
"The reporter as the power of the victim (Yoni Dores), explained to Polda Metro Jaya that the victim is the owner of a copyright for several songs based on a public statement issued by PT ASKM," said Ade.
"Then the incident began in 2018 until now, it is known that the reported party covered several songs belonging to the victim, and uploaded them to several online media, (such as) YouTube, without the victim's knowledge and permission," he added.

Regarding the report, said Ade, investigators from Polda Metro Jaya have conducted an investigation and investigation.
"Investigation is a series of activities to ensure that the reported incident is suspected of a criminal act or not," he said.
It was also stated that the reporter had brought some evidence related to the alleged copyright infringement committed by Lesti Kejora.
"When the reporter arrived, the reporter brought some evidence that was submitted for further investigation, including one flash drive, then there was a statement from the publisher and print out the cover of the song," said Ade.
Based on the report, if it is true that there are allegations of copyright infringement, then Lesti is faced with a criminal threat.
"As regulated in Article 113 in conjunction with Article 9 of Law No.28 of 2014 concerning Copyright, with a maximum penalty of 4 years and/or with a maximum fine of Rp. 1 billion," said Ade Ary.
