The Lost of National Treasure tells the story of Fang Kun (Bai Yu Fan), a graduate student at the Department of Archeology at Qin Chuan University who assists in recovering cultural heritage lost abroad.

He found that an unknown tomb in Yincun, Bailuyuan, probably the tomb of the Ziling belonging to Emperor Taizong of the Han Dynasty.

Assisted by his mentor, Zhan Mao Chang, he took him to Bailuyuan to conduct an on-site investigation, but he suddenly lost his life.

Given his mentor's desire, Fang Kun volunteered to go to Yusai to archaeological the Great Wall. The unknown tomb at Yincun, Bailuyuan, caught the attention of the archaeological team, and Fang Kun was invited to participate in the investigation.

There, he reunited with his ex-girlfriend, Luo Qing (Rain Wang), who had become team leader, and they found an ancient tomb shaped like the Chinese character "" (yes).

Fang Kun tried to reminisce about his previous theories, which sparked controversy and interest as well as caught the attention of cultural criminals.

Fang Kun and Luo Qing work together to return the cultural heritage to where it should be.
