KY Proposes 25 Judges To Be Sanctioned For Violating The Code Of Conduct Code Of Ethics
The Judicial Commission issued a proposal to impose sanctions on 25 judges during the January to April 2025 period for violating the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct of Judges (KEPPH).
The Head of the Supervision of Judges and Investigations of KY Joko Sasmito explained that the proposed imposition of sanctions was the result of the KY plenary session as a decision-making forum on public reports.
"The details of the judges who were proven to have violated the KEPPH, namely 15 judges were given light sanctions, six judges were sentenced to moderate sanctions, and four judges were given severe sanctions," Joko said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 20.
KY also proposed imposing sanctions on eight judges who were found guilty of violating the KEPPH. However, this was not done because it had been first sanctioned by the Supreme Court.
Joko detailed the proposal for light sanctions in the form of verbal warnings against one judge, written warnings against five judges, and written statements of dissatisfaction with nine judges.
Meanwhile, the proposed moderate sanctions are in the form of a salary reduction of one periodic salary increase of a maximum of 1 year to four judges, as well as a proposal for a maximum of 6 months for non-fake judge sanctions to two judges.
For the proposal for severe sanctions in the form of non-fake judges for more than 6 months and a maximum of 2 years, he said, it was handed down to three judges and dishonorable dismissal of one judge.
