Planetarium Jakarta Cannot Be Opened Until Now, Pramono Admits He Is Constrained By Legal Cases
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed the cause of the problem of the Planetarium and the Jakarta Observatory (POJ) at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) Cikini has not been able to operate until now.
Pramono admits that the show projector at the Planetarium, which should be replaced with a new one, cannot be obtained at this time. Even though the revitalization of the Planetarium has been carried out since 2021.
"So this planetarium has been revitalized in 2021 and since its revitalization until today it has never been used. Because there are problems in the starball, we will be able to function it again," said Pramono at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Cikini, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, May 20.
The problem has not yet reached that point. The DKI Provincial Government has not been able to obtain the Planetarium operational equipment because currently there is still a chaos in the legal process in procuring the revitalization of the Planetarium.
"There is a technical problem, what is the name? Digital wheels. So according to us, those who have installed the panels are not paid for by us. Until then they continue to arrive (Makkamah Agung)," said Pramono.
Therefore, Pramono instructed his staff to study in-depth legal issues before perfecting the revitalization of the TIM until it was finished and reopened to the public.
"We will study the legal issues and I have asked the Department of Culture and later the Education Office to be completed, we want to solve it so that this place can function. If there really has to be financing to be able to see the constellations, we will hold it for that," explained Pramono.

The function of the Planetarium has not been a complaint from a number of parties since several years ago. The Planetarium operation was not opened, especially the Star Theater, the sky object simulation show arena. The reason is, Iwan said that due to the performance projector or star ball, it was damaged and had not been replaced with a new one.
"For me, something like this has actually become a challenge to solve. Apart from having to have costs or costs to be spent, the legal issues must also be resolved," added Pramono.
