Bandung Police Arrest 3 Bad Perpetrators During Persib Convoy

Bandung City Police (Polrestabes) arrested three suspects in the robbery with the initials JJ, DDS, and RAP against three teenagers that occurred during the convoy celebrating Persib Bandung's victory against Barito Putera on Saturday (10/5).

The Head of the Regol Police, Kompol Heri, said that the three victims were following the convoy after the Persib match, they were grabbed by the perpetrators who then pointed an airsoft gun to stop the victim's vehicle.

At first the victim did not know that the weapon was an airsoft gun. Because they felt threatened, they stopped. At that time, the perpetrator immediately took control of the victim's motorbike, "said Heri as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 20.

According to Heri, after successfully stopping the victim, the perpetrators forced the three of them to come to another location, namely the Kota Baru Street area, Ciateul Village, Bandung City.

At that location, the perpetrator asked the victims to hand over valuables, namely three cell phones. Feared, the victim handed over the items, then left them alone," he said.

He said the police who received the report from the victim's family immediately conducted an investigation. Based on CCTV footage and the victim's statement, the Criminal Investigation Unit managed to identify the perpetrator and arrest one of them, JJ, on Monday (12/5).

"From JJ's statement, it was known that the action was carried out with two colleagues, DDS and RAP, which were then also successfully secured," he said.

During the arrest, the police also secured evidence in the form of an airsoft gun used to scare the victims and stolen goods.

"Currently we are still investigating whether the perpetrators are members of certain groups, such as motorcycle gangs or other community organizations," he said.

For their actions, the three perpetrators were charged with Article 368 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence, with the threat of imprisonment of more than five years.

"The three perpetrators have now been detained at the Regol Police Headquarters to undergo further legal proceedings," said Heri.
