Puan Leads The DPR Plenary Meeting On Submission Of Fiscal Policy For The 2026 RAPBN

JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani chaired the DPR Plenary Meeting for the 18th Session Period III of the 2024-2025 Session Year. The agenda for today's meeting is the government's submission to the macroeconomic framework and fiscal policies of the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN) for Fiscal Year 2026.

The Plenary Meeting was held at the Nusantara II building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 20, In this plenary meeting, Puan was accompanied by the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, namely Adies Kadir, Saan Mustopa, and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal.

"By saying Bismillahirohmaanirrohiim, allow us as the Chair of the Council to open the 18th DPR RI Plenary Meeting for the Third Session Period for the 2024-2025 Session Year, Tuesday, May 20, 2025 and we declare that it is open and open to the public," said Puan, opening the plenary session.

In today's Plenary Meeting, Puan read out letters from the president received by the DPR. The Presidential Letter (Surpres) that entered the DPR was related to a request for consideration of the Nomination of the State's Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador (LBBP) for the Republic of Indonesia, and the matter of appointing the Deputy Government to Deliver the Macro Economic Framework and the Principles of Fiscal Policy of the RAPBN for the 2026 Fiscal Year.

The Plenary Meeting then continued with a single agenda, namely the Government's Submission to the Macro Economic Framework and the Principles of Fiscal Policy (KEM and PPKF) for the 2026 Fiscal Year, which was conveyed by the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.

Puan said the views of the factions on the Government's Submission of the KEM and PPKF of the RAPBN for the 2026 Fiscal Year will be held at the DPR Plenary Meeting next week, namely Tuesday 27 May 2025.

"Therefore, we ask all factions to prepare their respective factions' views," said the first woman to serve as Chair of the DPR RI.

Not long after, Puan then closed the Plenary Meeting today.

"Thank you to the honorable members of the Council and all of you for your perseverance and patience in attending today's Board Plenary Meeting," said Puan.

After the Plenary Meeting, Puan responded to the issue of the Surpres regarding the consideration of the Candidate for the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador (LBBP) of Sahabat State. Puan stated that the Surpres that the DPR had just received was the Presidential Decree regarding Ambassador candidates from other countries for Indonesia.

"From other countries, not Indonesia outside, but from other countries that come for Indonesia," said Puan.

Puan also stated that there has been no Presidential Decree regarding the position of the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States which has been vacant for the past few years.

"Nothing yet, not yet. Regarding that, the president is prerogative, that's executive matter," said Puan.

"If the DPR is just waiting from the government. So it can't be then the DPR urges it, but maybe it can ask for it to be accelerated," he concluded.
