Minister Of Manpower Yassierli: Industrial Relations Realized Through Dialogue To Collaboration
JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli said Pancasila's industrial relationship based on superior human resources (HR) and a healthy work environment can be realized through dialogue and collaboration between companies and workers and trade unions in it.
"Pancasila's industrial relationship is realized through dialogue, deliberation, and collaboration between trade unions and management. This is the key to the company's future progress," said Minister of Manpower Yassierli as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 19.
One example of this effort is the signing of the Collective Work Agreement (PKB) IX PT Pertamina (Persero), between the management of Pertamina and the United Pertamina Workers Union Federation (FSPPB) for the 2025 '2027 period.
He considered that PKB IX was the result of a dynamic social dialogue process and reflected maturity in employment.
He added that in the future Pertamina must appear as the front line in developing superior human resources.
According to Yassierli, Indonesia still faces serious challenges in terms of labor productivity.
Over the past two decades, Indonesia's productivity has stagnated at 10 percent and is still below the ASEAN state average. In fact, to realize Indonesia Gold's vision in 2045, national productivity must be increased up to 1.7 times.
"The big homework for Pertamina is to become the locomotive of increasing national productivity. This must be a common goal," he said.
The Minister of Manpower also cited a study stating that 50 percent of the current skill set will be irrelevant in the next 10 years.
However, much time is still spent facing old challenges, while the readiness to face future work (future jobs) is not yet optimal.
What's worrying is if we leave our workers without the relevant skills. When that happened, it was foreign workers who were ready to take a role, "he said.
The Minister of Manpower also invited trade unions to move further than just fighting for normative issues.

Yassierli refers to Herzberg's motivational theory of dividing the work factor into two dimensions, namely hygiene factors such as wages and a work environment that has been achieved a lot, and motivating factors that encourage workers to make the best contribution.
"Motivating factors can only grow through healthy collaboration between management and trade unions. And the key to everything is strengthening human resources," said the Minister of Manpower.
