Foxconn And NVIDIA Build Advanced Supercomputer AI Factory In Taiwan

JAKARTA - NVIDIA and Foxconn Hon Hai Technology Group announced the expansion of their long-term partnership with the Taiwan government to build a supercomputer AI factory.

In this expansion, Foxconn will provide AI infrastructure through its subsidiary Big Innovation Company as NVIDIA Cloud Partner.

Equipped with 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, the AI plant will expand AI's computing availability significantly and encourage innovation for Taiwanese researchers and companies.

Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council will use the Big Innovation Company supercomputer to provide cloud-based AI computing resources for the technology ecosystem in Taiwan, accelerating the development and adoption of AI in various sectors.

Meanwhile, TSMC researchers plan to take advantage of this system to accelerate their research and development with performance many times faster than previous generation systems.

"We are delighted to partner with Foxconn and Taiwan to help build Taiwan's AI infrastructure, and to support TSMC and other leading companies in advancing innovation in the AI and robotics era," said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA.

Young Liu, Foxconn chairman and CEO hopes they can become a basic foundation in connecting communities in Taiwan as well as government and corporate organizations such as TSMC to accelerate innovation and empower industry.

The Taiwanese government itself targets the southern region as the center of the AI industry, complete with large investments in future research and technology development.

"Our main goal is to create an intelligent AI island filled with intelligent cities, and we look forward to collaborating with NVIDIA and Hon Hai to realize this vision," said Minister Wu Cheng-Wen of the National Science and Technology Council.

The AI plant will be equipped with high-end network technology from NVIDIA, such as NVLink, Quantum Infinity, and Spectrum-X Ethernet, and will be part of the NVIDIA global cloud ecosystem.

Foxconn will also use the AI supercomputer from Big Innovation Company to accelerate automation and efficiency in three pillars, namely smart cities, electric vehicles, and manufacturing, to accelerate growth with AI.
