Bali Satpol PP Calls Dancer Joget Bumbung Erotics
The Bali Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) summoned a bungung dance dancer whose video went viral on social media (medsos) for carrying out erotic movements that did not match the standard.
Head of Bali Satpol PP Dewa Nyoman Rai Dharmadi said the summons, apart from being intended for clarification, also asked the dancer to sign an agreement so as not to repeat his actions.
"What has been seen on social media is related to the video of Gek Wikalakan an erotic dance, not in accordance with the standard. Not dancing, but wearing a bunted dance," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 19.
"Well, this is our emphasis so that Gek Wik and other dancers as well, other bungung dancing dancers do not do the same thing, have made a commitment earlier," he added.
The dancing dress dancer who dances with erotic movements in front of the driver or audience who dances with him is Agus alias Gek Wik (25) who comes from Denpasar.
In the video circulating, Gek Wik dances with erotic movements to come into contact with a male audience who is sitting in a hall with several bottles of alcohol.
Satpol PP Bali then saw a video that had gone viral at the beginning of that year re-emerging on social media so that it decided to make a call on the person concerned.
"This is the same as destroying the image of our justuhung arts and cultural arts, meaning that in the future the Balinese people will really preserve them together," he said.
In this summons, the Bali Satpol PP facilitated a meeting between erotic dance dancers and the ranks of the Bali Provincial Government such as the Department of Indigenous Community Empowerment and the Bali Culture Service.
In addition to jointly preserving the bubble dance as a Balinese tradition, the meeting was also to provide guidance on the reasons why the dancer who acted as a woman did not join the studio, but worked individually.
"We hope that things like this, especially when the person concerned is again found to be doing the same thing repeatedly, of course we will follow up because in Bali Regulation Number 1 of 2019 the sanctions are clear," said Rai Dharmadi.
Currently, the dance dancer is only asked to make an agreement and be given guidance. However, Rai Dharmadi reminded that if he repeated his actions, he would be sentenced to 3 months in prison with a fine of Rp. 25 million.
Gek Wik as the dancer in the video also said that thanks to the summons he was introspective, and would not repeat the inappropriate movements.
He confirmed that the incident in the video took place in December 2024 in Jimbaran.
"Requests from those looking for, dancers automatically follow the direction that pays off, it's good that there is a summons, so we are more wary that we don't do things like that anymore," he said.
The dancer who has been in his profession since he was 10 years old admitted that his daily activities from the start were dancing with fees starting from Rp. 300 thousand.
