Donald Trump Chooses The Son Of Former New York City Mayor To Supervise The 2026 World Cup Task Force
JAKARTA - President Donald Trump has decided that Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, will serve as Executive Director of the Presidential Task Force for the 2026 World Cup, which will be organized by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
During Trump's first term, Andrew Giuliani served as special assistant to the president and director of the Public Liaison Office Association. Trump described it as a very competitive golfer and personal.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump also said Carlos Cordeiro, Senior FIFA Advisor, would serve as Senior Advisor to the 2026 World Cup Task Force.
"Together, this group will help plan the biggest, safest, and most extraordinary football tournament in history," Trump said at a meeting of the 2026 World Cup Task Force which was also attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and US Vice President JD Vance.

Trump said he wanted people traveling to the United States to join the tournament to have a smooth experience during each part of their visit.
The United States will also host the first Club World Cup from June 14 to July 13, 2025, which will be held in 11 cities.
"The United States will welcome the world," Infantino said of the US hosting the two international tournaments.
Infantino said the two events would bring in nearly $50 billion in economic output for the United States and create nearly 300,000 jobs.
Vance, who serves as Deputy Chair of the 2026 World Cup Task Force, said the group would make every effort to make the event a success.
"Of course, everyone is welcome to come and watch this amazing event, I know we will have visitors from nearly 100 countries," Vance said.
"We want them to come, we want them to celebrate, we want them to watch the game."
"However, when the time is up, they have to go home. Otherwise, they have to talk to the Minister of Homeland Security (Kristi) Noem," Vance said again.
