Kali Cakung Lama Dikeruk Sepanjang 8 Kilometer, Pramono Janji Tak Ada Penggusuran
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inspects the dredging of the Old Cakung River in the Pegangsaan Dua area, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. In this dredging, Pramono promised the DKI Provincial Government would not eviction residents who live on the banks of the Cakung Lama River.
So, according to him, none of the residents refused the mud dredging process in the Old Cakung River using the heavy equipment.
"The most principles in the settlement of the handling of the Cakung Lama River are that we do not carry out evictions. At all we do not carry out evictions," said Pramono at the location, Monday, May 19.
Pramono said that the dredging of the Cakung Lama River was carried out along 8 kilometers and was divided into 11 segments. Then, in segment 12, the DKI Provincial Government will build pump houses in the downstream river area.
There are certain reasons why the Cakung Lama River is one of the attention of the DKI Provincial Government to handle. Pramono revealed that the area is a flood subscription when it rains with high intensity. The reason is the mud sediment that settles in the river flow.
"In this area, on average, if there is rain, there is an increase in water up to 30-40 centimeters. It turns out that the main source is the Cakung Lama River, which has not been dredged for too long, has not been completed," said Pramono.
Thus, the dredging in the Cakung Lama River is targeted to be completed in 2027, which is expected to reduce the impact of flooding in North Jakarta, especially the Kelapa Gading area.
"This shows that A Jakarta in this case is serious and serious about solving the problems that are the complaints of the people around Kelapa Gading," said Pramono.
Although it is claimed that there was no eviction, the Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Agency, Ika Agustin Ningrum, revealed that there would be land acquisition from the Cakung Lama River dredging project.

Ika said that this land acquisition was in accordance with Government Regulation Number 39 of 2023 concerning Amendments to Government Regulation Number 19 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Land Procurement for Development for General Interest.
"There is land acquisition downstream, segment 12. Not eviction but land acquisition. (The land released) has a rights base, there is a certificate. Approximately one kilometer," explained Ika.
