Dedi Mulyadi Reveals Budget Is Not Right On Target In The West Java Education Sector, Rp700 Billion Only For ICT Procurement
JAKARTA - West Java (Jabar) Governor Dedi Mulyadi revealed that his party had reallocated more than IDR 5 trillion in budget. This step was taken because many provincial government spending was not on target.
This was conveyed by Dedi after holding an audience with the Directorate of Coordination and Supervision (Korsup) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Monday, May 19.
"There is more than Rp5 trillion in budget reallocations. The budget reallocation changes routine government spending which is considered to have wasted the government's budget and then public expenditure allocations but has no public interest," Dedi told reporters at the location.
One of the reallocated budgets, continued Dedi, is in the education sector. He said there were findings of procurement for information and communication technology (ICT) amounting to Rp700 billion.
According to him, this amount of procurement is not really needed. There is more than ICT expenditure for more than 700 billion. Meanwhile, what is needed by the world of education is a new classroom," he said.
"So the budget was shifted to a new classroom," continued the former Purwakarta Regent.
In addition, other budget reallocations carried out by the West Java Provincial Government are related to routine business trips to socialization. In fact, people don't need it because what they need is electricity.
What is needed by the community today is that almost 240 thousand people of West Java do not have electricity. So there is a reallocation of almost Rp250 billion from Rp9 billion for public electricity spending," he said.
Meanwhile, Bahtiar Ujang Purnama as Director of Korsup Region 2 agreed that Dedi Mulyadi had implemented a number of budget reallocations. Everything has been explained in a closed meeting.
