DKI Provincial Government Asks For Additional IDR 182.7 Billion For Ciliwung Normalization, DPRD: It Must Be Done!

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has proposed an additional budget of IDR 182.7 billion to be included in the amendment to the APBD for the 2025 fiscal year. The addition of this budget is allocated to accelerate the Ciliwung River normalization project.

Where, the DKI Provincial Government is tasked with acquiring residential land for residents to widen the river. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works (PU) is tasked with building the embankment.

Responding to this, the Chairman of Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Yuke Yurike, advised the DKI Provincial Government to immediately complete land acquisition from this additional budget.

"This is a priority for the land acquisition budget to continue the Ciliwung River normalization program in 2027, all land acquisition must be completed," said Yuke, Monday, May 19.

Yuke emphasized that the budget proposed in the regional work plan (RKPD) for the 2025 changes is really intended to serve the community.

In particular, those affected by land acquisition for the Ciliwung River normalization program. Thus, the volume of flooding in Jakarta can be significantly reduced.

"Don't just ask for more or write off, but it's not absorbed either," said Yuke.

"We hope that the planning is carefully adjusted to environmental conditions and needs with conditions on the ground," he added.

On the one hand, Yuke also asked the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Service (SDA) to take an inventory of all the remaining land to be acquired by 2027.

Because, referring to the decision from the Ministry of Public Works, the process of normalizing the Ciliwung River begins in 2027-2028.

"If you really want to pursue 2027-2028, the construction will begin, meaning that land acquisition must be completed in 2027. The budget is quite large, "explained Yuke.

In the near future, the DKI Provincial Government will again carry out land acquisition for the Ciliwung River normalization project. The plan is that around 67 hectares of land in Cawang Village and Cililitan Village, Kramat Jati District will be acquired.

This is stated in the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 344 of 2025 which was signed by the Governor of DKI Pramono Anung on April 25, 2025.

The government targets the normalization of Ciliwung to be carried out along 33.69 kilometers. As of April 2025, the embankment has been built along 17.17 kilometers. So that the remaining 16.52 kilometers of rivers with unsecured land and embankments are built.
