Tourists Are Reminded Of Not Approaching Sileri Dieng Crater, Which Had Phreatic Eruption
BANJARNEGARA - The Government of Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java, has reminded the public and tourists not to approach Sileri Crater within a 500-meter radius to maintain a safe distance.
"People and tourists should not approach Sileri Crater within a radius of 500 meters from the crater rim, considering that yesterday there was a phreatic eruption of Sileri Crater, Dieng Plateau Area", said Head of the Banjarnegara Regency Tourism and Culture Office, Agung Yusianto in Banjarnegara, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 30th.
He said that currently the Dieng Plateau Tourism Area is not closed and can still be visited by tourists, despite an eruption at Sileri Crater on Thursday, April 29 at 18.25 WIB.
"The policy was taken considering that the location of Sileri Crater is very far from other tourist objects such as Arjuna Temple and Sikidang Crater, the distance is about three kilometers more, but tourists must adhere to a safe distance and not approach Sileri Crater within a 500-meter radius", he said.
Therefore, the Banjarnegara Regency Government reminded tourists to always be careful and always follow the recommendations of the government.
Previously, BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) Banjarnegara informed that there had been an eruption with the type of phreatic eruption in Sileri Crater, Kepakisan Village, Batur District, Banjarnegara.
Head of BPBD Banjarnegara Aris Sudaryanto through the Head of Emergency and Logistics Andri Sulistyo explained that the phreatic eruption occurred with a throw of material about 400 meters to the south.
At this time, the team is still monitoring to anticipate further disasters.
In addition, the team has also carried out security considering that the road around the scene of the incident was very slippery due to mud and rock material coming from the crater.
BPBD Banjarnegara urged people in the local area to remain vigilant and do not panic and do not easily believe news reports that are not yet clear or hoaxes.
"We urge residents to always be vigilant but do not panic and do not easily believe hoax news or fake news whose truth is not yet clear", he said.
Aris also emphasized that the BPBD Banjarnegara will continue to inform the public about the latest developments.
