Prabowo's State Visit To Thailand: From The King's Palace To The Economic MoU
JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to undergo an official visit to Thailand on Monday, May 19. This agenda is part of an effort to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Thailand in various strategic sectors.
"In the context of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto to Thailand, he will carry out a series of important agendas in order to improve bilateral relations between Indonesia and Thailand," said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, in a press statement, Antara, Sunday, May 18.
The President's visit will begin at 09.30 local time by holding an official audience with the King of Thailand, His Majesty Maha Vajiralongkorn, at Amphorn Royal Palace, Bangkok.
This meeting became a symbol of the close diplomatic relations between the two countries as well as a form of respect from the Kingdom of Thailand for Indonesia.
After meeting the King, President Prabowo will head to the Government House to attend the official welcoming ceremony chaired directly by Thai Prime Minister, Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
The ceremony will be held solemnly, starting with the singing of the national anthem of the two countries, inspection of the honorary troops, to the introductory session between official delegates.
After the state procession, President Prabowo and PM Paetongtarn will hold a bilateral meeting. This agenda will discuss strengthening cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand in the fields of economic, political, defense, and education.
During the meeting, President Prabowo will be accompanied by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Secretary, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Thailand.
The agenda then continued with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a form of commitment to expand the partnership between the two countries.

"It is hoped that this visit will further strengthen friendship and open up opportunities for new cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand in the future," said Yusuf.
