Singapore Navy Ship Evacuate Light Components KRI Nanggala-402

JAKARTA - The Chief of Naval Staff Admiral TNI Yudo Margono said that until now the rescue ship belonging to the Singapore Navy MV Swift Rescue is only capable of lifting or evacuating light components from the KRI Nanggala-402 submarine.

"As for the heavy ones, I hope the ships belonging to SKK Migas and those of the Chinese Navy can help", said TNI Admiral Yudo Margono to reporters aboard the KRI dr. Soeharso in Bali waters, Friday, April 30.

Admiral Yudo said there were several light components of the KRI Nanggala-402 that the previous MV Swift Rescue ship had successfully evacuated, including a hydrophone or underwater communication device, rescue clothes, and others.

Meanwhile, according to Yudo, the body of the German-made submarine crew that sank in the waters of the northern sea of Bali on April 21, 2021, according to Yudo, has yet to be seen from the results of monitoring the equipment used by the MV Swift Rescue ship.

"Until now (the body of the KRI Nanggala-402 crew) has not been seen. It's just that the number 402 has been seen, because (on the seabed) it is covered in mud", he said.

The KSAL stated that TNI Headquarters was still alerting Indonesian Navy warships, including the overseas ship MV Swift Rescue in the vicinity of the incident.

The TNI has also collaborated with SKK Migas (Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities), which has shipped with the ability to lift loads at sea depths of 1,000 meters. In addition, the ship belonging to the Chinese Navy is also on its way to Indonesia to assist in the evacuation of a German-made submarine in 1977.
