Bekasi Regency Government Plans To Increase Fund Allocation For Residents' House Renovation
BEKASI - Bekasi Regency Government, West Java plans to increase the allocation of renovation financing for the homes of pre-Welfare residents in the Uninhabitable House Renovation Program (Rutilahu). The policy is scheduled for 2026.
The Rutilahu program funds have doubled, from Rp. 20 million to Rp. 40 million.
"The budget for rutilahu starts in 2026 worth IDR 40 million for each beneficiary of the program. This budget increase is to adjust the price of building materials and labor wages," said Head of the Bekasi Regency Housing, Settlement and Land Office (DPKPP) Nur Chaidir in Cikarang, quoting ANTARA on Sunday 18 May.
He said that since 2019 the financing assistance for the Rutilahu Program in Bekasi Regency has not changed, while the price of building materials and repair wages continues to increase.
The policy also refers to a similar program at the West Java (Jabar) Province level which has increased the budget for repairing rutilahus to IDR 40 million per unit starting this year.
"The West Java Provincial Government has set a budget of IDR 40 million per unit. We will follow the policy, but it will only be effective starting in 2026 because it is currently still in the process of drafting the regent's regulations," he said.

Chaidir admitted that the Rutilahu Program aims to stimulate the community so that they can work together to help build uninhabitable houses to become habitable.
Local government assistance is triggering that beneficiaries, families, neighbors, and village governments, can be directly involved in the development process.
"This program encourages community participation in renovating their homes together. From there it can be seen to what extent the spirit of mutual cooperation of residents in the village is," he said.
This year, the Bekasi Regency Government is targeting the construction of 1,670 rutilahu units spread across 23 sub-districts, with an allocation of 15-20 units per village or sub-district.
"It has started running in a number of areas. Gradually until the end of the year, hopefully it can reach all beneficiaries of the program according to the target set by the local government," he said.
