Bahlil Asks Sri Sultan For Wejangan: Continuing The Struggle Of The Golkar Party
YOGYAKARTA - General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Golkar Party Bahlil Lahadalia met the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Bahlil, who is also the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), came accompanied by a number of high-ranking Golkar Party officials, including the Secretary General of Sarmuji, General Treasurer Sari Yuliati, Deputy Adies Kadir, Deputy Wihaji and Head of Legal and Human Rights Policy Christiani Aryani.
During the meeting, Bahlil said he asked Sri Sultan, who had also served as chairman of the DIY Golkar.
"We have a relationship with Sri Sultan. Besides him, Mr. Sri Sultan is the governor, a national figure, Mr. Sri Sultan is a former chairman of Golkar DIY. Three terms. Figures. So we asked for advice, asking for advice," said Bahlil at Madrasah Mualimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Sunday 18 May.
According to the man who was born in Banda, Central Maluku, it is a natural thing for a junior to come to seniors to seek direct advice. This, continued Bahlil, has become a tradition in the Golkar Party.
"We want to re-knit what our seniors in Golkar did in ancient times. Every time they come to the area they have to meet old Golkar figures," said Bahlil.
