DPRD And Bogor City Government Agree To Eradicate The Circulation Of Illegal Alcoholic Drinks

BOGOR The rise of illegal alcoholic beverage (minol) sales in Bogor City is increasingly troubling the public. In addition to being a trigger for various criminal acts, the circulation of this drink has even claimed lives.

Seeing the increasingly worrying condition, the Bogor City DPRD together with the Bogor City Government agreed to eradicate illegal ministries. Concrete steps are taken through various actions, such as confiscation and sealing of kiosks that are proven to sell minol without a permit.

This commitment was strengthened by the holding of an integrated meeting between Commission I of the Bogor City DPRD and the Bogor City Government through Deputy Mayor Jenal Mutaqin, on Thursday, April 17 at Paseban Sri Baduga, Bogor City Hall. The meeting discussed strategies to eradicate the circulation of illegal minol throughout the city.

The chairman of Commission I of the Bogor City DPRD, Karnain Asyhar, emphasized that the existing regulations were strong enough to be used as a legal basis. He referred to Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2021 concerning Public Order and Mayor Regulation Number 121 of 2022.

"Pak Wakil Wali Kota dan Komisi Satu DPRD Kota Bogor sepakat bahwa semua penyeraran minol ilegal, di luar ketentuan perizinan yang diatur regulasi, harus ditindaktindak secara konsekuen dan konsisten," ujar Karnain.

He also revealed that so far there are only four hotels in Bogor City that have official permits to sell class B and C minol. Therefore, he asked the city government to immediately socialize the rules to business actors and the public.

"Every seller of minol must have legality. The community must also play an active role in controlling the environment. With even socialization, we hope that the circulation of illegal ministries can be completely stopped," he added.

During the meeting, Karnain submitted location data that was suspected of being the point of selling illegal minol. The data was compiled by Commission I of the Bogor City DPRD in collaboration with regional officials.

Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor Jenal Mutaqin emphasized that the Bogor City Government did not prohibit the sale of minol as long as it was carried out according to the rules. However, sales at stalls, kiosks, canteens, street vendors, and similar places are prohibited because they are not in accordance with applicable regulations.

"This rule is clear. Alcohol in Bogor City is not prohibited, but regulated. What is not in accordance with the provisions is not allowed," said Jenal.

Jenal also highlighted the practice of selling minol through online platforms. He said his party would establish communication with application service providers to overcome this problem. In addition, prosecution will also target illegal distributors, so that eradication is carried out upstream.

"The council and the City Government have agreed to jointly maintain and regulate the circulation of Minol in Bogor City," he concluded.
