After The Rare Solar In Banggai Laut, Central Sulawesi Police, Failed 2.2 Tons Of Subsidized Fuel Sent To North Maluku

The Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolaruid) of the Central Sulawesi Police (Sulteng) thwarted the shipment of 2.2 tons of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) to Taliabu Island, North Maluku (Malut).

Dirpolairud Polda Central Sulawesi Kombes Pol. Muhammad Yudie Sulistyo said this action started with information and public unrest in Banggai Laut Regency because of the scarcity of diesel.

"The action was carried out because of the unrest and information of the Banggai Laut community regarding the scarcity of diesel subsidized fuel," he said in a written statement in Palu, Sunday, May 18, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said responding to this information, the ranks of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police Ditpolaruid carried out surveillance in Mandel Waters, Bugin Islands District, Banggai Laut Regency.

The police then took action by successfully thwarting the delivery of subsidized diesel fuel transported by the viber GT.04 ship in Mandel waters.

He said the ship was carrying 110 jerry cans of diesel or 2,200 liters to Taliabu Island, North Maluku Province.

From this action, he said, the police arrested two perpetrators, the initials J Alias OM (47) and A Alias PB (41), who are residents of Bokan District, Banggai Laut Regency.

"Now both of them are being held at the Central Sulawesi Regional Police Ditpolairud Detention Center," he said.

He said the two perpetrators were suspected of violating Article 55 of Law No. 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas which had been amended in Article 40 point 9 of Perpu Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation, which has been stipulated as Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning Job Creation in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of six years and a maximum fine of Rp. 60 billion.
