Halim Perdanakusuma Airport Install GeNose Test Equipment Starting Tomorrow

JAKARTA - Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta, plans to install a GeNose COVID-19 test kit on Saturday, May 1, as a condition for passengers traveling by airplane.

Executive General Manager of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Nandang Sukarna, said the installation of the GeNose test kit was a support for the policy of tightening homecoming.

"God willing, the installation has not yet been officially tested," said Nandang Sukarna, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 30.

Nandang Sukarna said, after the installation of the GeNose test kit was completed, a series of experiments would be carried out, the results of which would be evaluated before serving passengers.

In addition, Nandang also explained the number of passengers at Halim airport during the current tight homecoming period. Although he did not mention exact figures, according to Nandang, the number of passengers at Halim airport was slightly affected by the tightening of homecoming.

"Until this afternoon there was an increase in passengers but it was not significant due to the tightening of passengers," said Nandang Sukarna.

According to him, prospective passengers departing from Halim airport have so far been aware of the requirements for air travel during the tight homecoming period on April 22 - May 5, 2021 and May 18 - 24, 2021.

"Prospective passengers have realized that they meet the requirements. Especially the health documents, both PCR, antigen and GeNose results, are only valid 1 x 24 during the period before and after the 2021 Lebaran homecoming ban," he added.
