Deputy Minister Of Religion Asks Pilgrims Of Hajj Candidates: Report PPIH Who Don't Want To Serve

PADANG - Deputy Minister of Religion (Wamenag) Father Muhammad Syafi'i asked pilgrims not to hesitate to report Hajj Organizing Officers (PPIH) if they do not want to help or serve them well during the series of Hajj services.

"Later, if you ask for help and he doesn't want to help, register his name and report it to the Hajj supervisor," he said during a working visit to Padang City as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 17.

He said this was considering that the Hajj season 1445 Hijriah of the Ministry of Religion sent a number of PPIHs back to their homeland even though the Hajj season was still ongoing. This decisive step was taken because there were officers who did not carry out their duties properly.

In fact, said the Deputy Minister of Religion, before PPIH left for the Holy Land, training and understanding of the tasks to be carried out during the Hajj season were given.

Romo said that if the incident during the Hajj season of 1445 Hijri was repeated this year, this matter could not be tolerated.

Therefore, the Deputy Minister of Religion asked the pilgrims who were prospective for Hajj not to hesitate to report whether they met with PPIH not wanting to help serve the congregation.

"If there is a PPIH that does not want to help the pilgrims, we will return them to their homeland even though the Hajj season is still ongoing," he said.

In the 1446 Hijri Hajj season, Indonesia sent 4,420 Hajj officers to Saudi Arabia. Indonesia initially received an allocation of the quota of one percent of the total quota of pilgrims (221,000 people), namely 2,210 people.

However, thanks to the lobbying carried out by the Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar with the relevant authorities, Indonesia received an additional quota of officers so that it became 4,420 people.

This additional officer is important because the Hajj officers will provide services and assist the congregation while carrying out the fifth Islamic Rukun. This will help Saudi Arabian officers in the success of organizing the pilgrimage.
