The Minister Of Social Affairs Reminded The Regional Head Of The Objective Selection Of People's School Students
JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf reminded regional heads not to play games in the process of selecting candidates for public school students.
The Minister of Social Affairs emphasized the importance of objective attitude in making decisions to regional heads in eight districts, namely Sigi, Central Buton, East Belitung, Banggai Islands, Takalar, Fourth Lawang, Kuningan, and Sopeng.
"Let's jointly select students for the People's School as objectively as possible. So don't play games here. Let's do what the President wants, let's do it," said Social Minister Saifullah as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 16.
He explained that there were no academic tests in the selection process for People's School students.
In addition, every child who comes from a poor family can receive education at this school free of charge.
All facilities for students in the People's School, ranging from uniforms, school equipment, to food and drink needs, he continued, borne by the state.
Therefore, the Minister of Social Affairs emphasized that there should be no practice of irregularities during the selection of students because the People's School program aims to glorify the poor.
"Well, if we are not careful, it will be KKN (corruption, collusion, nepotism) again later for who enters," he said.

In addition, the Minister of Social Affairs revealed, based on the results of a survey by the Ministry of Education and Culture, there are three major sins in the world of education, namely bullying, physical and sexual violence, and intolerance.
He hopes that through the People's School, these things can be prevented.
"So in the future, let's take care of our school through the regent, through the mayor there so that we can avoid these three educational sins and we can suppress them and we can prevent them from the start. Moreover, this is a boarding school, right. Later there will be character education, so we have to manage it well," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
