Israel Attacks Yemeni Port, Four Loud Explosions Heard

JAKARTA - Israel attacked the ports of Hodeidah and Salif in Yemen along the country's Red Sea coast on Friday, Houthi-run Al Masirah TV said.

Israel has retaliated against the launch of the Houthi militant group's missile that was carried out earlier.

As reported by Reuters on Friday, May 16, Al Masirah did not provide further details, but two residents in Hodeidah said they heard four loud explosions. There was no immediate statement about the attack from Israel.

The Houthi group continues to fire missiles at Israel as a form of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, although they have agreed to stop attacks on US ships.

The Israeli military, which launched a number of retaliatory attacks on Houthi targets, managed to intercept the missiles launched by the group on Thursday.

Earlier this week, Israel issued evacuation orders for ports of Ras Isa, Hodeidah, and Salif, saying the ports were used by Iran-aligned Houthis.
