Situbondo Police Are Still Investigating The Case Of A 10-year-old Child On Fire

SITUBONDO - Situbondo Police, East Java, stated that until now it is still conducting an in-depth investigation regarding the alleged abuse that befell a 10-year-old child with the initials AQ in the local area.

Situbondo Police Chief AKBP Rezi Dharmawan said the investigation was carried out to determine whether the victim was deliberately burned by his peers or not.

"We need to clarify the information circulating regarding whether the victim was mistreated, or bullied, deliberately burned, we are still investigating it by asking for information from the victim and other witnesses," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 16.

Currently, his party is intensively asking for information from victims and reported, including their parents.

On Tuesday (13/5), members of the Setempat Police Satreskrim asked for information from six witnesses and held a pre-reconstruction at the scene of the incident in the incident of a child who suffered serious burns.

From the results of pre-reconstruction and based on the testimony of witnesses, initially the victim played with his peers totaling three people looking for fish in the river.

After getting caught by fish, the victim and three of his friends were followed by another friend to burn caught fish using a spirit fluid.

When burning fish, one of his friends constantly pours spirit fluid into the fire with the intention that the fire does not extinguish.

However, when pouring the spirit liquid into the victim's face, shoulders, and chest, it caused the victim to burn in the face, chest and stomach and hands.

"The evidence that was secured included spirit bottles, matches, cans of milk and cans of paint," said Police Chief Rezi Dharmawan.
