Celebrating World Family Day Through Art To Raising Children's Creativity

JAKARTA - World Family Day which is celebrated every May 15 is a reminder of the importance of building a strong, healthy, and loving relationship between family members.

One of the approaches that is getting more and more attention is the role of art in strengthening the bond between family members, especially through creative activities with children.

Art is not only an expression tool, but also an educational vehicle that can shape character, foster empathy, and train children's thinking skills happily.

In this spirit, various art education-focused initiatives for children and families have begun to emerge, one of which is LittleDoodle, an art festival and creativity specifically designed for children and families.

The festival is scheduled to take place on 26'29 June 2025 at Urban Forest Cipete and will present a variety of interactive activities, ranging from workshops, creative markets, to game areas and meetings with children's favorite characters.

This event is designed to be a fun and educational art exploration space. Activities such as drawing, crafting, and playing roles are believed to stimulate children's cognitive growth and strengthen their socio-emotional skills.

"We see art not only as an expression, but also as an important foundation in child growth. We hope this agenda can be a safe, inclusive, and fun creative exploration space for children and families," explained Christine Laifa, Co-founder of TFR News, Jakarta Doodle Fest, and LittleDoodle at a press conference in Jakarta, recently.

On the same occasion, Michael Ruly Atmadja, founder of Youreka Farm Kids, said collaboration with various parties helped strengthen the educational goals of this festival.

"Before children can talk or write, they can write off and create. That is the power of art to pave the way for communication from an early age," he said.

Several young artists and local creative brands participated in this festival, showing how art can become a medium of age and generation.

Among them is Jaimee Maulana, a young artist who previously appeared in the Jakarta Doodle Fest to well-known young artists such as Muklay.

In addition, various famous children's brands and characters will also enliven this event through interactive activities and art workshops. Activities like this open up opportunities for families to hone creativity with their little ones, outside of digital routines or children's school-formal activities.

Through events like LittleDoodle, it is hoped that more families will be encouraged to involve their children in art activities from an early age, not only as a form of entertainment, but also as a fun and long-term learning method.
