Still In Workshop, It Turns Out That The Mercedes Benz 280 SL Ridwan Kamil Which Was Confiscated By The KPK Was Just Restorated

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to monitor the Mercedes Benz 280 SL sedan which was confiscated from former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil. The transfer to the KPK Confiscation House (Rupbasan) in Cawang, East Jakarta from a workshop in Bandung, West Java has not yet been carried out.

As a reminder, the car was confiscated for allegedly related to the alleged corruption in the placement of advertisements for PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR) for the period 2021-2023.

"Regarding the goods entrusted to the workshop, the KPK is still monitoring to ensure that the goods are available and in good condition," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted Friday, May 16.

This monitoring, continued Budi, was carried out so that the car would not change shape until it was transferred to Rupbasan.

Meanwhile, regarding the reason why the classic car was in the workshop when it was confiscated, Budi did not answer. However, from the information collected, Mercedes Benz with the nickname pagoda had just been restored.

"The car was only restored or repainted. In addition, it was also found that there was engine failure," as quoted from a VOI source.

Ridwan Kamil, still said the same source, also did not enjoy the car after it was restored. "Because it has not been resolved, it has been confiscated," he said while explaining that the Golkar Party politician still has to pay the repair costs that have been implemented.

Previously reported, the KPK confiscated evidence related to the corruption case in the placement of advertisements for PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR) for the period 2021-2023. Among them are deposits worth IDR 70 billion to vehicles.

"We also confiscated a sum of money, but in the form of deposits of approximately Rp. 70 billion, there were several two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles," said Acting Director of KPK Investigation, Budi Sokmo, to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, March 13, 2025.

In this case, five suspects have been named. They are former President Director of Bank BJB Yuddy Renaldi; Head of Corporate Secretary Division of Bank BJB Widi Hartoto; Agency Controller Antedja Muliatama and Cakrawala Kreasi Mandiri Kin Asikin Dulmanan; Agency Controller of BSC Advertising and PT Wahana Semesta Bandung Ekspres (WSBE) Suhendrik; and Controlling of PT Cipta Karya Sukses Bersama (CKSB) and PT Cipta Karya Mandiri Bersama (CKMB) Raden Sophan Jaya Kusuma.

This case investigation warrant (sprindik) was issued on February 27, 2025. The actions of the five suspects are suspected of having caused the state to lose up to Rp22 billion.

Currently, the detention has not been carried out on five suspects. However, they have been prevented from traveling abroad for six months and can be extended according to the needs of the investigation.
