Police: Lawyer Munarman Popped Evidence To Clean The Toilet
JAKARTA - The National Police said that the lawyer for suspected terrorism, Munarman, mocked the evidence of the raw material for making TATP which was confiscated from the former FPI Secretariat office to be a toilet cleaner.
Head of Penum for the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, said the raw material for making the bombs was indeed found in the toilet cleaning fluid. But based on Puslabfor's examination, the evidence is the raw material for making explosives.
"At the time they were found, among them were toilet cleaners. So not all of these items were toilet cleaners. It was confirmed that what Densus found was toilet cleaners," Ramdahan told reporters, Friday, April 30.
"So the Densus found one of them. Because what they found was a lot of evidence. Among them were toilet cleaners," continued Ramadan.
Ramadan again explained that the items confiscated were not the main ingredients for making bombs but rather complementary materials.
"Not basic materials, materials that can be used (explosives). These materials are used as materials," he said.
Previously, the National Police denied the statement by Munarman's lawyers team that the evidence confiscated from the former FPI Secretariat office was only toilet cleaning fluid.
Based on the results of the investigation by Puslabfor, the evidence confiscated were items potentially used as raw material for making TATP (triacetone triperoxide) explosives.
"We convey the identification results of the Puslabfor team which has carried out the identification, concluding that the items found are chemicals that have the potential to be used as raw materials for the manufacture of TATP explosives," said Ramadhan.
In addition, the evidence is also called flammability. Thus, it has the potential to be used as a raw material for making Molotov cocktails.
In fact, one of the pieces of evidence confiscated, said Ramadan, was a chemical used to make TNT (Trinitrotoluene).
"Second, flammable and vulnerable chemicals are used as materials for making Molotov cocktails and third, chemicals which are the raw material for TNT's explosives," he said.
