The Progress Is 95 Percent, Section 4 Sinaksak Toll Road In Panei Intersection Is Targeted To Operate During Nataru

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Marga Waskita (Hamawas) as the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) is accelerating the completion of the construction of the Kuala Tanjung 'High Cliff' Parapat (Kutepat) Section 4 Sinaksak Intersection Panei.

Sebelumnya, Hamawas telah menyelesaikan sebagian Seksi 3 Junction Tebing Tinggi'Interchange Dolok Merawan serta sebagian Seksi 4 Interchange Dolok Merawan 'Interchange Sinaksak dan telah beroperasi secara penuh pada 2024.

Hamawas noted, until now, the progress of the construction of the Kuala Tanjung Toll Road Tebing Tinggi (Kupat) Section 4 Sinaksak Panei intersection along 28 kilometers has reached 95 percent.

Hamawas Technical Director Jimmy Leonard targets that the Section 4 toll road can be completed in September 2025.

"So, it is hoped that the community can use it during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 moments," he said in a written statement, Thursday, May 15.

Jimmy explained that this toll road will be equipped with two toll gates (GT) located in Sinaksak and Simpang Panei, respectively. GT Simpang Panei is designed to facilitate access to the capital city of Simalungun Regency and shorten the distance to the Lake Toba Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP).

"If usually from Medan to Raya it takes 3 hours, now it can be taken to 1 hour 30 minutes," he said.

In addition to the two GTs, this toll road is also equipped with two intersections (SS), four bridges and seven overpasses and has a lane width of 3.6 meters with a number of 2times2 lanes which will increase the comfort of toll road users.

According to Jimmy, GT Simpang Panei also adopted local wisdom by displaying Pinar Uluni Horbou which is a statue of the buffalo head becoming an icon and symbol and culture of the people in Simalungun Regency.

However, Jimmy did not deny that there were a number of obstacles in building this toll road, such as the condition of the land in the field. Hamawas, he said, had to carry out land handling using the soil displacement method by using replacement land materials that had passed the laboratory test in order to achieve the required density and carrying capacity of the land.

"Another challenge is the existence of hard rock soil at several points requiring the use of heavy equipment, such as breakers to get the desired elevation to support the smooth excavation process, so that construction acceleration continues," explained Jimmy.

Therefore, in the construction of Section 4 Toll Road, Hamawas is committed to providing the best results. "So, we ask for prayers and community support so that the construction of the Panei Intersection Sinaksak Toll Road can be completed immediately, so as to provide benefits and rapid connectivity to the community," he concluded.

The presence of the Panei Intersection Sinaksak Toll Road not only accelerates access to Lake Toba's leading destinations, but also opens up new economic opportunities for the surrounding community by creating jobs.

Thus, it can provide opportunities for hundreds of workers, both from the local and surrounding areas and encourage community participation in supporting the success of national strategic infrastructure development.
