Large Waves In The Bali Strait Caused Trucks In Overturned Ships
The large waves in the Bali Strait caused a truck in the Marina Pratama Passenger Motorboat (KMP) to roll over and hit other vehicles.
"A large pond hit from the right side when the ship was about to turn to the left. As a result, a truck overturned and hit a private car nearby," said Gilimanuk Police Chief Kompol I Komang Mulyadi as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 15.
Komang said this incident occurred near pier II of Gilimanuk Harbor, Jembrana Regency, which resulted in loading and unloading activities at the dock being disrupted due to waiting for the evacuation of vehicles involved in the incident.
According to Komang, in addition to hitting other vehicles, the cargo of the Nopol D9068SB truck driven by Indra Suganda from Garut Regency, West Java Province, namely sengon wood and red rice also spilled on the ship's parking deck.
"The cargo weight reaches six tons. The plan is for the wood and the red rice to be brought to Kintamani, Bangli Regency," he said.
As a result of this accident, the truck's left back was backed, while the Toyota Yaris car Nopol DK777HO was hit by a clash on the back.
The Toyota Yaris car was driven by Zainul Hajar from Dauh Peken Village, Tabanan Regency.

In the waters of the Bali Strait, extreme weather often triggers large waves and strong winds in the sea.
To prevent goods vehicles such as trucks from rolling over, usually ship crews tie vehicles with iron ropes arranged on the ship's parking deck.
In addition to potentially causing the vehicle to roll over, bad weather several times also dragged the ship out of the shipping lane so that it ran aground.
