Illegal Parking In Jakarta, DPRD: Governor Has Worked Hard, But His Men Can't Join Irama

JAKARTA - Member of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Hardiyanto Kenneth, highlighted the question of illegal parking that is still mushrooming in Jakarta. In fact, the existence of illegal parking has been in the spotlight of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung.

Unfortunately, according to Kenneth, the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government, especially the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, have not been optimal in controlling illegal parking.

"I see Mr. Pramono very sorry if he has subordinates whose models are like this. He is so enthusiastic, so has a heart to serve the people of Jakarta. But his subordinates, they can't help, they can't translate what he wants," Kenneth told reporters, Thursday, May 15.

Kenneth did not deny that the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency and Satpol PP periodically regulate illegal parking that controls roads and crowded points.

However, many areas have been brought under control again by illegal parking attendants because they are not closely monitored.

"After we report, today it is brought under control, tomorrow it will be like that again. That's why this Transportation Agency must also be evaluated. If it does work lazy or there is no passion. Maybe it can be replaced, it can be removed, or shifted. Don't be there again, look for someone who can really work," explained Kenneth.

In addition, this member of Commission C of the DKI Jakarta DPRD also suggested that Pramono dissolve the Parking Management Unit (UP) of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency if it was still incompetent to eradicate illegal parking.

"In the future, if we look at this Parking UPT, it's like this, maybe we will suggest to the Governor to just disband it. We'll just auction it to the private sector so that the private sector manages it," he said.

According to Kenneth, the DKI Provincial Government can cooperate with the private sector in managing illegal parking into official parking whose retribution is received by the Regional Revenue Agency with an optimal value.

"Later, it will go to Bapenda. Bapenda will control it. Bapenda will (manage directly) if the Parking Road is on-street. If it's off-street, it's private management, to Bapenda. So the source of income for tax collection is to Bapenda," explained Kenneth.
