Germany Arrests 3 Ukrainians In Connection With Explosive Packages

JAKARTA - Germany arrested three Ukrainian nationals on suspicion of the activities of foreign agents linked to the delivery of packages containing explosives.

The suspects are believed to have been in contact with people working for Russian state agencies, federal prosecutors said in a statement.

Two men identified under German privacy laws only as Vladyslav T. and Daniil B., were arrested on weekends in Germany. Another identified as Yevhen B., was arrested on Tuesday in Switzerland.

"The defendants are strongly suspected of acting as agents for the purpose of sabotage," the prosecutor said in a statement.

The German government warned business people in August last year that a package containing incendiary devices caught fire on its way across Europe.
