Israel Issues Emptying Warning Of 3 Ports In Yemen After Houthi Fire Missiles

JAKARTA - Israel issued an emptying warning on Wednesday for three ports in Yemen after saying the Houthis fired missiles at them.

As reported by Reuters on Wednesday, May 14, Israel reported that the launch of Yemen's Houthi missile occurred when US President Donald Trump was visiting three countries of the Gulf - Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Israeli military said the ports of Ras Issa, Hodeidah and Salif were used by Iran-affiliated Houthi groups. Israel previously said it intercepted missiles launched from Yemen towards its territory.

Trump, who began intensive military operations against the Houthi base in Yemen on March 15, approved a ceasefire deal mediated by Oman with the group. The deal does not involve Israel.

The Houthis launched missiles and drones into Israel, as well as attacked ships on global shipping lines, in an operation that was aimed at showing solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel continues its military operations there.

Trump said on Tuesday the Houthis agreed to stop disrupting key shipping routes in the Middle East.

Israel has carried out many retaliatory airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen.
