Avril Lavigne And Simple Plan Pay Respect In The Past And Now Through Young & Dub

JAKARTA - The iconic pop punk singer, Avril Lavigne presents the latest work to fans. In particular, this time he collaborated with Simple Plan on a song called Young & Dub.

This song is a nostalgic chant wrapped in modern packaging. Young & Dub features Avril reflecting on the first verse, remembering the early days of his cheerful and livine career like a rockstar before Simple Plan jumped 20 years later into the present at the second verse and explained how somehow it feels like nothing's changed

They also present an MV that creates sentiment that triggers memories. Avril and Simple Plan celebrate life on the street by cutting the hotel rooms 'trashin' scene, punk shows in empty swimming pools, and partying on tour buses.

Avril announced the song on Monday with a touching social media post, reflecting the meaning and origin of the song, and dedicating it to fans.

"This is a great moment. Simple Plan didn't just tour with me last year at the Greatest Hits Tour, but we also toured together in 2003 on my first arena tour," Avril Lavigne said in a recent post.

"We are still very young - just a group of teenagers from a small town in Canada who have just released our debut album. We immediately connected and became friends. A few months ago, I called them, and we gathered in the studio to write Young & Dub. We wanted to capture the special moments of our lives - when everything was new, and we were pursuing our dreams," he stressed.

Avril Lavigne expressed respect to his fans, artists and supporters of his music career and Simple Plan, who may now be 'ageless' but still have a young spirit.

"This song is for our fans. It is a tribute to the past, but also a celebration of the present. In our hearts, we are still the same teenagers, and our love for music has not changed," he stressed.

Meanwhile, Simple Plan is also happy to welcome Avril's invitation to collaboration this time. "We are very happy to finally be able to release a song with our good friend, Avril," said Simple Plan.

"After years of touring and hanging out together, getting into the studio to work on this song is a great experience. He is very talented, and we are very grateful he invited us to be a part of this song and help bring the song to life," they said.

Young & Dub comes just before the extension of the Greatest Hits Tour of North America which was very successful and sold out and will return to feature its biggest songs to date including Complicated which won 3x platinum from RIAA, Sk8er Boi which won 2x platinum, Girlfriend which won 2x platinum, Here's To Never Growing Up which won 2x platinum and many more from Avril's record-breaking catalog.

Young & Dub was released in partnership with LA-based Big Noise Music Group, a music company that brings a new touch to alternative punk pop culture.
