74 Parasite Infected After Visiting Wales Zoo

JAKARTA - A total of 74 people were infected with animal parasites after visiting a zoo in Wales.

Metro.co.uk was reported on Wednesday, May 14, that an eight-year-old boy named Alba Dobbinson was one of the victims of being infected with the crypto-poridium parasite.

The boy was infected after attending a session to feed the cows and sheep at the Marlborough Grange Livestock, Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan, which is still in the Wales bonbin area.

Local authorities said 16 of the victims were declared to need hospital treatment for at least one night.

This number is expected to increase in the coming days as the parasite usually incubates for some time before infecting its host.

Symptoms of cryptosporidium include dilute diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, mild fever, and loss of appetite and weight loss.

The Wales Public Health Service said the Marlborough Grange farm in the Wales bonbin area had temporarily suspended the feeding and feeding sessions of beef and sheep.

The activity was temporarily suspended part of the investigation process carried out by the Wales Public Health Office regarding this incident.
