Crushed By A Big Truck, The Xiaomi SU7 Max Structure Remains Strong

JAKARTA - A terrible incident experienced by the Xiaomi SU7 Max electric car in China. A video shared by the owner showed the purple electric sedan was furious after being hit by a large truck. However, surprisingly, the car retains important elements of its structure to keep functioning or at least protect the space inside, despite significant pressure or damage.

CarnewsChina reported that the incident occurred on May 13, 2025, when an unmanned parked SU7 Max was hit by a truck that lost control. The two vehicles even fell from a higher position, with trucks landing right on board the Xiaomi car, causing very severe damage.

Even though the body outside the car was destroyed with broken glass, the body panel was crushed, and the bumper was released, the miracle occurred after the car was evacuated. The owner was amazed to find that all car doors could still be opened normally! More than that, the car's voice assistant system is still functioning, even successfully operating the front trunk.

This incident went viral in cyberspace, reaping praise for the passive safety feature owned by SU7 Max. The owner, who was so impressed, even marked Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun in his post and said he would "buy one more" even though he had just experienced the unfortunate incident.

Real testing in this field seems to validate the advantages of safety engineering previously predicted by Xiaomi. SU7 Max is built with a mixed body structure between high-power steel and aluminum alloys, of which 90.1 percent of its body is made of high-power material. Its strongest component is able to withstand pressure up to 2000Mpa, with torsional rigidity reaching 51000 Nm/deg.

Critical safety zones such as pillar A, pillar B, and floor blocks using ultra-high-power 2000Mpa steel. Likewise with the door's internal bars, creating an extraordinary rigid passenger compartment.

Previously, the credibility of SU7's safety had been tested by achieving the highest score from the China's Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI), getting the highest G+ rating in all three main safety test categories: passenger safety, pedestrian safety, and driver assistance safety. This achievement made SU7 the only sedan that won the title.
