The New Lion Was Preserved By AK-47 After Bitting The Employer To Death
JAKARTA - A man in Iraq was killed by his pet lion just days after the wild animal was kept.
Aqil Fakhr al-Din, 50, was attacked by the predator at his home in Kufa, Iraq. The lion then devoured most of his employer's body.
Quoting Metro.co.uk, Tuesday, May 13, Al-Din has a hobby of making wild animals his pets. He keeps lions and other wild animals in his yard.
However, the lion he just bought in early May 2025 turned out to be difficult to tame.
A source told the Al-Ghad newspaper the newly kept lion pounced as Al-Din approached his cage on Thursday 8 May. The stray cat bit his employer's neck and chest.
Al-Din's neighbor who heard the victim's screams tried to save her by shooting the lion with a Kalashnikov rifle aka AK-47.
According to news agency Shafaq, the lion died helpless after being shot 7 times.
Al-Din's body was then taken to Al-Sadr Medical City Hospital in Najaf.
The local police stated that they had deployed their officers to investigate this incident.
