Aprilia Silences About Jorge Martin's Plan To Leave

JAKARTA - Aprilia chose to remain silent regarding the news that said Jorge Martin would activate the clause in his contract to leave the team at the end of this year's competition season.

The defending champion has only appeared once at the Qatar Grand Prix in this season's calendar. He missed more draws as he was struggling with the injuries that have occurred since pre-season.

Motorsport reports that the matter made Martin intend to leave at the end of this season using a clause in the contract even though it was considered irrelevant.

The report said the rider intends to use a clause in his contract to release him from his second year if he does not finish among the top riders in MotoGP 2025 after the French Grand Prix.

However, Aprilia declined to comment on the report.

Martin suffered injuries to his wrist and ankle before this season arrived. This forced him to miss most of the race this season.

His debut with Aprilia in the Qatar 2025 MotoGP ended in a disaster. He fell and was hit by Fabio at Giannantonio in the race so he suffered 11 broken ribs.

Since then there has been no definite date regarding the possibility of Martin returning to the top track. However, the latest changes to MotoGP regulations mean Aprilia can now provide Martin with private tests.

Spending many races at the start of the season makes Martin's chances of keeping the title impossible. The chances of a champion are now in the hands of Marc Marquez who has performed perfectly so far.
