Ammunition Explosion In Garut, TNI AD: We Are Fully Responsible

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Army (AD) has stated that it will take full responsibility for all the impacts caused by the explosion of ammunition in the Garut area, West Java.

It is known, the incident caused 13 people to die, some of whom were local residents.

"On this occasion I convey that the Indonesian Army is fully responsible. To assist all processes of handling and burial of the victims. Both those from the ranks of the Army and those from the surrounding community," said Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Wahyu Yudhayana, Tuesday, May 13.

At least, there were four members of the TNI who became victims. They are Colonel of the Equipment Corps Antonius Hermawan, Major of the Equipment Corps You Rohanda, Kopda Eri Prambodo, and Pratu Afrio Setiawan.

While the rest are local residents. They will be buried after receiving permission from the medical team which is then handed over by their respective families.

"Buried in a public cemetery in a surrounding village," he said.

Regarding the handling step, Wahyu said that his party had conducted investigations and sweeps at the explosion site, on Monday, May 12. However, the process was temporarily suspended due to weather constraints.

With the current weather conditions improving, the investigation and sweeping process will resume.

"The sweeping activities and activities of the investigation team will be resumed," said Wahyu.
